GPM company launched continuous carbon fiber reinforced PPS-UD thermoplastic prepreg unidirectional tape production line
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) as a high-performance engineering material has many performance advantages, but due to technical reasons, the continuous carbon fiber reinforced PPS-UD belts previously had to rely on imports.
GPM's technical team devotes itself to research and development, breaks through innovation, forms a number of technical invention patents, masters the core process and technology of PPS+ continuous carbon fiber thermoplastic impregnation, and officially launches the PPS+CF thermoplastic UD unidirectional tape production line.
GPM's newly launched model adopts the melt dipping process, which is different from the conventional powder method and solution method to achieve continuous and stable production of PPS-UD tapes, and fully meets the conditions for mass production of high-performance PPS reinforced UD tapes.
Its production process is mainly
PPS pellets are melted, plasticized and extruded through a special high-temperature extruder, and the melt is quantitatively transported. The core dipping mold realizes dispersion, impregnation and composite with continuous carbon fibers. The width of the reinforced UD products is 300-600mm and the thickness is 0.2-0.22mm. The weight ratio of CF to PPS is about 1:1.
The produced UD sheet has a smooth surface, good impregnation effect and uniform continuous fiber distribution. It can meet the professional application fields of aerospace, weapons and military industry, rail transit, medical sports, etc.
The CF+PPS prepreg tape equipment launched by GPM mainly includes:
Carbon fiber constant tension creel, customized yarn spreading system, extrusion system, special melt impregnation device, UD sheet forming system, etc. It has a complete process path from carbon fiber yarn bundles and PPS pellet raw materials to the manufacture of reinforced UD belts.
